The treatment is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles that suggest our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are interlinked. By targeting the way someone thinks and behaviours in a situation, this can in turn change how they feel about that situation (i.e., reducing anxiety).
The course is designed to empower parents, the experts of their child, by giving them a toolkit to help overcome their child’s anxiety. It is a therapist-support, parent-led intervention, meaning a clinician works with the parent to help their child rather than directly working with the child.
What does the treatment look like?
There are eight online modules (also available as audio and PDFs) that parents complete each week. After each module, the parent is supported by a clinician with a 20-minute call.
